3) Managing the Office
Did you notice that only one of the three main issues for the elected prosecutor involves the courtroom?
Berkeley County is one of the fastest growing regions in the State. The Berkeley County Prosecutor's Office is always a front-runner in the State for new issues, new technology, and new solutions.
The elected prosecutor cannot handle the workload and implementation of policy alone-it takes many dedicated public servants to keep the office moving. There are fifteen assistant prosecutor positions in Berkeley County and twelve staff positions, ranging from paralegals to investigators and victim advocates. These employees are the heart of the office and they keep the wheels of justice moving daily.
These folks need a strong leader who leads by example and supports them. Over the years Joe has earned the trust and respect of the other assistant prosecutors, victim advocates, investigator, and paralegals and values their friendship.
Additionally, for the Berkeley County Prosecutor's Office to be successful it must have a strong relationship with the Berkeley County Commission. Joe will carry on the fantastic relationship between the Prosecutor's Office and the County Commission that was ushered in by the current administration, providing a seamless transition after the election.
